Seasons Eatings: The Aftermath

Remember that post I did about what I was wearing for the holidays?  Well, someone COULD NOT fit into that dress by the time it came to slip it on Christmas Eve.  But being the mentally unstable fat-ass that I am, I convinced Mr. A that he could get it to zip…  And being the competitor that he is, he got the zipper up, taking about a four-inch strip of flesh along with it.  Fail.

So I ordered myself a cleanse to start after the New Year and am downing copious amounts of green smoothies in hopes of getting somewhat back to “normal”.  For those who aren’t familiar with the green smoothie, you are missing out!  Not only do they help in losing weight, they boost energy, build your immune system and allow you to get a healthy dose of greens (and their fiber!) without the need for teeth.  (Which is also coincidentally helpful for me, as I chipped a tooth on a lollipop yesterday.  Thankfully, I have one dentist and one to-be dentist in the family.  Unthankfully, we were nowhere near an office and I got my tooth smoothed out by my brother with a Dremel tool from my dad’s tool shed while laying on the floor of my parent’s laundry room.  True story.)

Here is a super easy green smoothie recipe that with get you back on track (before you get totally bombed on New Years Eve and end up eating an entire cheese loaf the next day in your hungover state):

Orange and White Peach Green Smoothie

2 oranges, peeled and chopped
1 white peach, pitted and chopped
4-6 large romaine leaves
1 cup ice

Throw oranges and peaches into a sturdy blender, mix well.  Follow with romaine, then ice and blend on high until smooth and frothy.

Enjoy!

  1. So I totally want to try this cleanse. Is it a bad idea to do it right before the cruise? Should I wait until we get back?

  2. It isn’t at all crazy like some of the other stuff I try. (Unless you only drink those and nothing else.) It will just give your system a little “rinse”. And if your kids don’t mind drinking green things, they will probably like it too! Pickle likes one with a banana and apples. I just have to put it in an opaque sippy cup so she doesn’t see that it is green.

  3. Oh sorry Jamie. I thought you meant the drink. Brain dead. No, wait to do the cleanse after you get back. Definitely.

  4. The reason I like the BPC cleanse is because it jump-starts you into healthy eating (no cravings, etc.). If you do it and then go on a cruise, you are just asking for failure. I mean, who can resist those piles of cookies out 24/7?!

  5. I’m probably going to need other kinds of cleanses as well after I get back to so can you please start researching?

  6. Tina um says:

I worked out the whole time I’ve been home for like 45 min to and hr each day fight the bulge. I think all I did was maintain but at least no gain. Still pretty painful.

  7. Candace Martin Davis via Facebook says:

Is there a champagne cocktail cleanse you recommend?

  8. I am liking the champagne enema these days.

  9. Holly Stiles says:

Arghhhh…. My BPC will be here on Friday. What a way to kick start the New Year, right? And to think I’m going to cleanse before I go to NOLA…

    • Mrs. AA says:

I hope you love it. I am doing the same starting next week. We’ll be in this (and a bit cranky) together. I’ll message you my cell. Text me if you have any down time and want to meet for a cocktail! Would love to say hi!!!
